Wedel Software specializes in software solutions for the Broadcast and Advertising industries. In total over thousand radio stations worldwide use one or more of the numerous software solutions of Wedel Software. Examples are Logger, Traffic 98, Traffic 2000, Traffic Server, Audio Exchange, VoiceTraxx, AudioCommander, etc.
The company originates from 1995 and was named after its founder Raoul Wedel, who is still the most stimulating software developer. Wedel is a 15 year veteran in the dutch radio industry, and over 10 years experience with automation systems for radio. Wedel started distibution of US based automation systems for radio in 1990 with Pristine Systems, and later Dalet. The focus has always been on the domestic Dutch market, and with additional products being distributed worldwide by Pristine Systems, of Los Angeles. Today the team is grown up to 5 persons and the offices are central located in The ‘Heart of Holland’.

Wedel Software was joined by Edger Erkel in 2000. Erkel also has his roots in radio as president of Holland’s most sucessfull local radiostation Stadsradio Rotterdam. Later Erkel was responsible for forming the Rep firms LRN and CRN, which sell advertising from national advertisers to all local and regional stations.

The software tools are mainly traffic related. Goal was to make the traffic managers job lighter and more productive. This was what most radio stations found out when they started using the software. It’s easy to use, and helps to get the right commercial distributed to the right stations and on air on the right time. Also it solves the administrative part of billing and reporting to sales management.

The software packages are true Client/Server 32-bits windows applications. The focus in the development has been user-friendlyness in combination with a user-interface that today’s software users expect from packages like MS Word or Excel, including fully customizable toolbars and menus, excel style filtering, integration of email and faxing, and exporting of data to Word, Excel or Internet Explorer.
